Preliminary programme for Workshop Friday 6 October at the
Higher School of Economics, Room 31l. Myasnitskaya, 20, Moscow, tel. 928-0421.
The purpose of the workshop is to discuss papers from the conference in June which
could be published in the working paper series of the ASPE. The papers will be published
in Russian and English. At the workshop the papers will not be
presented by the authors (they were already presented at the conference in June). Each
paper is attributed two Discussants to ensure that as much relevant comments are given as
possible. Discussant 1 plays the main role and will also edit the Russian version of the
paper after revisions of the author. It is suggested that the discussion is organised as
follows: As short summary of the paper is given by Discussant 1 (max 5 minutes).
Discussant 1 then provides comments and suggestions which could make the paper publishable
(10-15 minutes). Discussant 2 is to add comments and suggestions and raise questions for a
more general discussion (max 5-10 minutes). Questions from the rest of the group and
general discussion (5-10 minutes). Each paper is thus devoted a maximum of 35 minutes. All
participants are expected to read the papers and take active part in the discussion even
if they are not “Discussants”.
